Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 8, 2026
Family Hub is a private household coordination application used to manage family accounts, schedules, chores, to-dos, shopping lists, and optional text message notifications. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to users.
Information We Collect
We may collect and store the following information when users create or use Family Hub:
- Account information such as name, email address, password hash, account role, and linked family member.
- Profile and household information such as family member names, colors, icons, and household name.
- Household activity data such as events, chores, to-dos, shopping items, and related notes.
- Phone numbers and communication preferences when users choose to receive text messages or SMS sign-in codes.
- Technical and security records such as session data, authentication events, and message delivery logs.
How We Use Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide the Family Hub service and maintain household accounts.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts, including optional SMS-based sign-in verification.
- Send requested text messages such as verification codes or household reminders when enabled.
- Operate, secure, monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
Text Messaging
If a user provides a mobile phone number and opts into SMS features, Family Hub may send transactional text messages such as login verification codes or household reminder messages. Message frequency varies based on account activity and household settings. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.
Sharing of Information
Family Hub does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the application, such as cloud hosting providers, logging providers, and SMS delivery providers, only as needed to provide the service.
Data Retention
Account, household, session, and messaging records are retained as long as needed to operate the service, maintain security, and support household history. Data may be deleted or anonymized when no longer required.
Security
Family Hub uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect account and household information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Your Choices
Users may request updates to their account details, communication preferences, or household data.
Users who no longer want to receive household text notifications can ask a household administrator to disable SMS preferences on their account. Users who no longer want SMS-based sign-in verification can ask an administrator to update their account security settings.
Children
Family Hub may include child-linked accounts managed by a household administrator. Adult account holders are responsible for the information entered for children and other family members.
